On November 3, 2010, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, a definitive publication on legal services providers worldwide, honored Tilleke & Gibbins lawyers in Thailand in the fields of dispute resolution and litigation, intellectual property, commercial transactions and M&A, and tax.

  • Alan Adcock, Partner and Deputy Director, Intellectual Property, was named a leading lawyer and highlighted for his “detailed knowledge of the law.”  
  • Chinachart Vatanasuchart, Partner, was named a leading lawyer and recognized as a shipping and litigation specialist. Joining Tilleke & Gibbins from Mayer Brown JSM in 2009, Chinachart has been named a leading individual in dispute resolution by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific since 2005.

Dutsadee Dutsadeepanich, an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution group, joined two webinars organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), respectively. On September 29, Dutsadee appeared as a guest speaker in two panels as part of the 8th ICC YAF Global 24-Hour Event. In the discussions, she shared her extensive experience, laid out best practices, and addressed some current issues in arbitration to the audience of young arbitration practitioners, counsel, corporate counsel, and academics from around the world. On September 30, she participated in a THAC webinar titled “Gender Diversity in International Arbitration: Trends and Developments in Thailand and Asia.” Together with four female arbitrators, she discussed the state of gender diversity in the industry, addressed gender parity according to cultural differences, and shared how COVID-19 has brought new challenges and opportunities for female professionals in the field.

On September 30, 2021, Dutsadee Dutsadeepanich, an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution department in Bangkok, will speak in a webinar titled “Gender Diversity in International Arbitration.” The webinar, which is being jointly hosted by ArbitralWomen and the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), will offer various perspectives on gender parity in international arbitration and foster conversations on how to promote gender diversity in Thai and Asian international arbitration. Dutsadee, who is currently the secretary of the Thailand branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is Thailand’s only representative on the Young Arbitrators Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce, will be joined by several other arbitration experts from countries throughout Asia. Together the speakers will form an interactive panel discussing various perspectives on the progress that has been made and what areas of the arbitral profession are still in need of greater gender diversity. The Cambodia chapter of the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (ASEAN IPA) recently held elections for the leadership team for the 2021–2023 term, and on September 16, it was confirmed that Sokmean Chea, an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Cambodia office, has been reelected as a councilor of the association. The ASEAN IPA—of which Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner of Tilleke & Gibbins, is the president—promotes intellectual property issues and the importance of enforcing intellectual property rights in the ASEAN region. The association builds cooperation and understanding among legal and business experts who are concerned with intellectual property in the ASEAN countries, in order to encourage the development and protection of intellectual property in the ASEAN countries. Each country in ASEAN has its own national chapter, charged with carrying out the ASEAN IPA mission on a national level and marshalling support for the association’s regional initiatives. As one of three councilors on the five-person ASEAN IP Cambodia executive leadership team, Sokmean will provide guidance and oversight of the Cambodia chapter’s activities for the 2021–2023 term.
