Asian Legal Business (ALB)  has published an “Emerging Markets Experts” list for the first time, with Tilleke & Gibbins among 11 firms across Asia named to the list.

ALB  defines emerging markets as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. The list features both regional and international firms which have helped their clients maximize the potential of emerging markets, such as by securing or facilitating key business deals, or resolving disputes.

The “Emerging Markets Experts” editorial features Tiziana Sucharitkul and Darani Vachanavuttivong, Tilleke & Gibbins’ co-managing partners, and highlights several of the firm’s offices across Southeast Asia, including those in Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The magazine gave specific recognition to some of the firm’s major clients, such as AIG, Honda, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Novartis, Pepsi, Pfizer, Starbucks, and Visa.

Firms were selected based on legal matters handled, notable clients served, and overall understanding of emerging markets in Asia. Based on these criteria, Tilleke & Gibbins has earned a place on the ALB  list due to the firm’s expertise of the law and business, familiarity with key industries and players, proficiency in forging partnerships across sectors, in-depth understanding of local laws, regulations, and working practices, and regional reach and quality of legal services.
