Tilleke & Gibbins Adds Two to Vietnam Corporate/Commercial Team

Tilleke & Gibbins is pleased to announce the addition of two experienced lawyers, Anh Thi Phuong Pham and Chuyen Hong Huu Le, to the firm’s corporate and commercial group in Ho Chi Minh City.

Phuong Anh joins the firm from Russin & Vecchi, where she was involved in numerous M&A deals, including the EUR 655 million acquisition of the Vietnamese arm of the German retailer Metro. She is also an expert on consumer protection and product liability law in Vietnam, and has served as a lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law since 2001.

Before joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Chuyen spent seven years with top-tier domestic firm YKVN, where she advised clients representing some of the world’s biggest companies on entering and doing business in Vietnam. She has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical and aviation fields, and was a founding member of YKVN’s pro bono practice.

David Lyman, chairman and chief values officer at Tilleke & Gibbins, was interviewed by Bangkok Biz News, known in Thai as Krungthep Thurakij, on business in Thailand after the passing of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej.Commenting on the drop in income from exports, David said that this is partially due to the slow recovery of the world economy. He then reiterated the King’s remarks on the importance of sustainable development and preserving the environment. The government should place emphasis on managing funds and developing infrastructure.
