Sarakadee Magazine Features Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods

Sarakadee Magazine

Sarakadee Magazine, a variety magazine owned by Viriyah Insurance, recently paid a visit to the Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods and interviewed Wiramrudee (Pink) Mokkhavesa, an attorney-at-law in the firm’s intellectual property group.

The interview highlighted Tilleke & Gibbins’ extensive museum collection. During the interview, Wiramrudee raised an interesting case of a set of genuine and fake bronze copper sculptures called Geese in Reeds, an original work of art created by German artist Impala Lechner. After completing her genuine work, Lechner discovered fake sculptures on a Thai website and pressed charges against the counterfeiter. She won the case and the counterfeiter was prosecuted. The case illustrates both the pervasiveness of IP-infringing products and the actions that legitimate IP owners can take to defend their rights.
