ALB Diversity List 2015: Tilleke & Gibbins Counted Among Top Firms

Asian Legal Business

Tilleke & Gibbins has been included in the first edition of the Diversity List, a list compiled by Asian Legal Business—forming part of the magazine’s “Women in Law” feature—that showcases the notable firms across Asia that are working to embrace inclusion in the workplace. To determine which firms would be included in the list, the magazine considered factors such as firms’ overall strategies to foster diversity and inclusion within their organizations, programs set in place by firms to promote diversity and inclusion in the office place, and metrics that demonstrate how successful such programs have been.

The Diversity List’s editorial lauds Tilleke & Gibbins as being “staunchly committed to gender balance and equal opportunities.” Continuing, the editorial says, “two-thirds of its managing partners overseeing the practice’s daily operations are female, and the majority of administrative departments in the Bangkok office are headed by women.”

Commenting on our firm’s pro-bono activities, the editorial states, “the Thailand office is also engaged in numerous pro-bono activities, including to the American Women’s Association of Thailand and the Human Development Foundation, both of which feature programs dedicated to women’s empowerment in society.” Further, it mentions our firm’s involvement in Equality Now, a human rights nonprofit organization, and our research into child marriage which is providing the impetus for region-wide legal reform and greater gender equality.

Lastly, the Diversity List’s editorial praises Tilleke & Gibbins for its high retention rates: “many staff stay for over two decades and report high levels of job satisfaction, career prospects, and work-life balance.” Our firm was also recently voted “Employer of Choice” in Thailand.
