Biography

Saryda Ou is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group in the firm’s Phnom Penh office, where she assists clients with a wide variety of needs related to doing business in Cambodia.

With special expertise in corporate, real estate, and labor matters, Saryda helps businesses and other clients by drafting and filing corporate regulatory documents, performing land title searches, registering land consolidation and unit transfer, translating and localizing commercial and employment contracts, and assisting with various labor compliance procedures. She also guides companies through corporate secretarial matters, such as changing directors, changing the registered office, share transfer, and increasing the amount of registered capital.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Saryda worked as an analyst for the Phnom Penh International Airport. She holds a dual LLB from the University of Lyon II and Cambodia’s Royal University of Law and Economics, and a master’s degree in international business law from Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Experience

  • Assisted local and International clients with corporate establishment in Cambodia and provided ongoing assistance with corporate secretarial matters such as share transfer, change of director, and change of registered office.
  • Assisted an international logistics business with operations across the Asia-Pacific in establishing a corporate presence in Cambodia and applying for a domestic transportation business license.
  • Provided a Cambodia-based NGO that alleviates poverty through healthcare, education, and sports with assistance in relation to consolidation of a land title in Cambodia, which involved registering the land consolidation with various local authorities, as well as unit transfer, hard title searches, and hypothec registration.
  • Assisted the Cambodian branch of a Chinese provider of information technology services worldwide in applying for an information and communication technology certificate for providing telecommunications services in Cambodia.
  • Reviewed, translated, and localized employment contracts, hypothec agreements, and other agreements for various global, regional, and domestic companies—including contract review for due diligence exercises.
