Biography

Kantima is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ employment law practice in Bangkok. She is a highly skilled labor and employment lawyer with extensive experience advising clients across a wide range of industries on both contentious and noncontentious matters in Thailand.

Her practice covers all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment agreements, termination of employment, unfair dismissal, business restructuring, changes in employment conditions, and work rules and regulations. In addition, Kantima has strong expertise in reviewing, drafting, and advising on general commercial contracts such as service agreements, management agreements, and lease agreements.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Kantima worked for five years at another leading law firm in Bangkok. She received an LLB from Chulalongkorn University, holds a lawyer’s license from the Lawyers Council of Thailand, and is an extraordinary member of the Thai Bar Association.

Experience

  • Assisted local and international clients in drafting, reviewing, and amending various types of agreements, including employment agreements, termination letters, agreements for transfer of employment, organizational administration frameworks, mutual separation agreements, and other corporate and commercial contracts.
  • Provided legal advisory services to a global client in the luxury hospitality industry on human resources management matters, including redundancy, organizational restructuring during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the revision of work rules and regulations to ensure alignment with both management objectives and legal requirements.
  • Managed employment-related matters for leading companies in Thailand during an M&A transaction, with a particular focus on changes to employment conditions and the preparation of relevant documentation to mitigate legal risks associated with employment termination arising from the transaction.
  • Represented domestic and international clients in a broad range of labor- and employment-related disputes, including cases involving termination of employment and unfair dismissal. Prepared legal opinions to assess potential outcomes of cases and legal concerns, and drafted all supporting documents for litigation cases.
  • Advised numerous employers in Thailand on labor management strategies to support business operations and minimize legal exposure, and prepared all relevant supporting documents.
