WTR 1000, 2015: Tilleke Ranked as a “Gold” Band Trademark Firm in Thailand

World Trademark Review

Tilleke & Gibbins has received a “Gold” band ranking in Thailand in the 2015 edition of the World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. This is the fifth consecutive year in which our firm has achieved this ranking.

The WTR 1000  determined the rankings through conducting extensive research into the market, carrying out interviews with lawyers and clients involved with trademarks, and considering firm submissions. Firms ranked in the “Gold” band are identified as the “crème de la crème,” which have reputations established over lengthy periods of time, enabling them to secure “high-profile, big-ticket work from the most prestigious of clients.”

The ranking’s editorial praises Tilleke & Gibbins as having a trademark department of “unparalleled size” with an “illustrious legacy throughout Southeast Asia.” It goes on to say, “Tilleke & Gibbins is a premier destination for any company seeking brand protection.” Continuing, it says, “Anti-counterfeiting is a particular strength; the firm has conducted investigation and enforcement actions in neighbouring countries such as Laos and Cambodia for almost as long as it has operated in Thailand.”

In addition to the firm ranking, four Tilleke & Gibbins lawyers have been identified as leading lawyers:

  • Darani Vachanavuttivong
  • Alan Adcock
  • Nandana Indananda
  • Srila Thongklang

Darani, co-managing partner and managing director of the intellectual property department, is described by a client in the ranking’s editorial as leading a prosecution team that is a “highly organized, task-oriented, and timely group of professionals.” Alan, partner and deputy director of the intellectual property department, is mentioned as being a “knowledgeable and approachable” practitioner, who “excels at interpreting local practice for foreign counsel.” Nandana and Srila, partners in the intellectual property group, are commended as being “core members of a team” that “provides in-depth and insightful counsel with a commercial emphasis—they keep their advice realistic and don’t overpromise.”
