Dr. Atthachai Homhuan, manager of regulatory affairs for Tilleke & Gibbins’ Bangkok office, will provide an update on regulatory issues in Thailand’s life sciences sector at a webinar organized by CMS and the Lifesciences Asia-Pacific Network (LAN) on Thursday, June 28, at 3 p.m. (Thailand/Vietnam time).

Dr. Atthachai’s presentation will cover trending topics such as national reforms and the move toward e-submissions for product registration. LAN members from China, Australia, and South Korea are also slated to provide updates from their respective jurisdictions. Pimvimol Vipamaneerut Elected as IPBA Jurisdictional Committee Member for Thailand

At the annual general meeting of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) on March 24, Pimvimol (June) Vipamaneerut, a partner in the firm’s corporate and commercial group in Bangkok, was elected as IPBA’s jurisdictional committee member for Thailand. Tilleke & Gibbins Lawyers Discuss Cosmetics Regulations in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar and Parallel Importation

On February 24, Tilleke & Gibbins, in collaboration with the Thai Business Association of Myanmar and the Thai Business Association of the Lao PDR, delivered a Thai-language webinar titled “How to Export Cosmetics to Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, and Parallel Importation and Case Studies in Thailand.” The 90-minute session was led by a number of Tilleke & Gibbins’ regulatory affairs (RA) specialists: Atthachai Homhuan, director of the firm’s regulatory affairs (RA) group in Bangkok; Dino Santaniello, head of the Laos office; Ratchanee Sriplaek, RA consultant in Thailand; Saithong Rattana, associate in the Laos office; Thanathon Trakoolpolpruek, RA consultant in Thailand; and Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, director of the firm’s Myanmar office. Together, the speakers addressed the following issues: Compliance with cosmetics laws and regulations in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar; Regulatory requirements for product labels and advertisements; Best practices and success stories related to exporting beauty products; Avoiding double importation; and Relevant case studies from Thailand. Alan Adcock Speaks on Digital Health in Thailand and Vietnam

Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of intellectual property and regulatory affairs, recently joined fellow members of LAN, the Lifesciences Asia-Pacific Network, in a video podcast on digital health and telemedicine in the Asia-Pacific region. Tilleke & Gibbins Lawyers Speak on Data Privacy and Protection in Relation to COVID-19

On November 17, Tilleke & Gibbins conducted another joint TMT webinar with Clyde & Co. The event provided a multijurisdictional view in a session titled “Data Privacy and Protection in COVID-19 Times.” Lawyers from Tilleke & Gibbins covered the legal and regulatory environments in Thailand and Vietnam, while lawyers from Clyde & Co spoke on Australia, China, and Singapore. Atthachai Homhuan, director of the regulatory affairs department at Tilleke & Gibbins, explained emergency use authorization of drugs and vaccines in Thailand, as well as data privacy and protection issues related to employers, employees, and vaccinations. Waewpen Piemwichai, a senior associate in Tilleke & Gibbins corporate and commercial group in Hanoi, followed the Thailand session with a look at the evolving pandemic situation in Vietnam and noted how the processing of COVID-19-related data will change when the draft Decree on Personal Data Protection takes effect.
