Tilleke & Gibbins to Host 2017 SCG Legal International Meeting in Bangkok

Tilleke & Gibbins, the only Thailand member of SCG Legal, a legal network comprised of over 148 independent law firms in 82 countries, will be hosting the 2017 SCG Legal International Meeting during May 11-12 at the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.

Speaking at the event will be the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Glyn T. Davies; the CEO of SCG Legal, David Poisson; and the Chairman and Chief Values Officer of Tilleke & Gibbins, David Lyman.

Representatives from Tilleke & Gibbins will also be participating in the following sessions during the meeting:

  • Thailand’s Emerging Multinationals: Strategies and Projections. In this panel discussion, in-counsel from leading Thai companies will share their long-term business strategies and market outlooks. The panelists will comprise Kristina Fischer, assistant vice president of business development and legal services at Centara International Management; Yingyong Tanthanapongphan, senior manager of IP management at Siam Cement Group; and Somboon Earterasarun, partner at Tilleke & Gibbins. Moderating the session will be Michelle Ray-Jones, consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins.
  • Fighting Fakes: Strategies to Enforce IP Rights in Thailand. Through a series of case studies, Tilleke & Gibbins partner Suebsiri Taweepon will provide an overview of the IP enforcement environment and current practices in Thailand.
  • Addressing Corruption in the Pacific Rim through Localized Compliance Programs. This session will cover how to design and implement effective local compliance programs for foreign companies. The panelists will include Michael Ramirez, consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins, and Tom Pickthorn, partner at Mills & Reeves. Moderating the session will be John Frangos, consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins.

Saravut provides comprehensive legal and tax counsel, including risk management advice for group restructuring and entire business transfers (EBT). He also offers tax management and planning advice for setting up proper investment entities and development projects in ASEAN countries. He has particular expertise in the energy industry, having represented some of the largest investments in petroleum exploration and production in Thailand. Saravut is recognized as a Notable Practitioner in Tax and in Restructuring and Insolvency by Asialaw and also as Notable Practitioner by IFLR1000. On July 1, 2024, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) announced the reappointment of Noppramart Thammateeradaycho as the Thailand member of its Court of Arbitration. Noppramart will serve another three-year term, from 2024 to 2027. The ICC Court of Arbitration is one of the world’s leading arbitral institutions, managing disputes involving major global companies. Membership in the court is a prestigious honor, with members selected from top law firms in their respective jurisdictions. Noppramart has actively participated in various sessions of the court, including a recent meeting in Singapore, where she engaged with representatives from prominent law firms and multinational companies.
