Practitioners from Tilleke & Gibbins’ offices in Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam have been quoted extensively in an article by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) , discussing a recent ruling by the World Trade Organization (WTO) on plain packaging in Australia and its potential effect on packaging regulations for Asian jurisdictions.

On August 29, Thomas J. Treutler, partner and managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices, will speak at a workshop on patent protection, licensing, and enforcement in Ho Chi Minh City organized by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the American Chamber of Commerce. The workshop is designed to raise public awareness of patents in Vietnam. Thomas will be speaking on “Patent Infringement – Civil Litigation, Trial and Remedies.”

The Myanmar Times,  Myanmar’s oldest privately owned English language newspaper, recently quoted several members of Tilleke & Gibbins in a wide-reaching article on the country’s ongoing economic, social, and political reforms.

Tilleke & Gibbins’ head office in Bangkok will host an intellectual property policy dialogue event on August 20, in collaboration with the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Intellectual Property Association of Thailand (IPAT).
