A recent article from Asia IP  featured insights from two of Tilleke & Gibbins’ IP partners about how IP rights management activities have fared during the COVID-19 crisis. The magazine interviewed IP practitioners from across the Asia Pacific region to get a sense of how companies, legal practitioners, and government IP agencies have been carrying on in the more restrictive atmosphere of lockdowns and precautionary measures.

On May 15, 2020, Peeyakorn Suparugbundit, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will lead a webinar on the management and protection of patents in Thailand. The webinar will be presented by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) as part of their NIA Academy initiative, which aims to give entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators a platform to learn about tools and techniques for achieving success in their Thai ventures.

In the newly released 2020 edition of Asian Legal Business’ annual intellectual property rankings, Tilleke & Gibbins is ranked as a Tier 1 firm in Thailand for matters relating to patents, copyright, and trademarks. Tilleke & Gibbins is one of just four firms to be placed in the highest tier for these categories, marking the twelfth consecutive year in which it has received the top ranking in every category for which it is eligible in Thailand.

On May 20, 2020, Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property practice, will speak at a webinar on “Why You Should Consider Southeast Asia for Your Next Franchise Expansion.” The webinar, organized by VF Franchise Consulting, is primarily targeting existing franchisors in the U.K., U.S., and Canada who are looking to explore promising new markets.
