Vietnam Business Forum, a weekly magazine published by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, featured Tilleke & Gibbins in its edition for August 1-8, 2011. This was a special edition of the publication, as it was focused on the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand. The issue highlighted political, economic, trade, and investment achievements in Vietnamese-Thai relations since 1976, while also looking forward toward potential future cooperation between the two nations.

The upcoming “Settlement of Disputes by Reconciliation” seminar, sponsored by the Thailand Department of Intellectual Property, will include Titirat Wattanachewanopakorn as a speaker. On July 6, 2011, Sukontip Jitmongkolthong, Attorney-at-Law with the Tilleke & Gibbins IP group, was a speaker at the “Settlement of Disputes by Reconciliation” seminar at Burapha University in Chonburi, Thailand. With over 100 people in attendance, the seminar engaged many interested students and legal professionals in a discussion of Sukontip’s presentation topic, “Dispute Resolution on Intellectual Property.” The seminar was sponsored by the Thailand Department of Intellectual Property.

In the wake of 2010’s political unrest and with upcoming national elections on the horizon, the climate for business and foreign direct investment in Thailand remains uncertain. The Report: Thailand 2011, published by the Oxford Business Group in cooperation with Thailand’s Board of Investment, states that political stability following the election will be a key factor in fostering a favorable investment environment in the months ahead.
