Museum of Counterfeit Goods Profiled in M2F

The Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods was featured in the February 3 edition of M2F, a daily newspaper published by The Post Publishing Public Company Limited, which also publishes Bangkok Post and Post Today. The Thai-language article provides an overview of the museum, highlights some of the products in the collection, and introduces readers to the concept of using the 3 Ps (place, price, and packaging) to identify counterfeit products.

After a visit to the Museum of Counterfeit Goods by a reporter of the Hong Kong Economic Times earlier this year, a Chinese-language article was published in April, covering the purpose of the museum and Tilleke & Gibbins’ range of IP clients. Building on an interview with Wiramrudee (Pink) Mokkhavesa, an attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins IP group, the article also details the various forms of IP infringement displayed at the museum, the most common counterfeit products found in Thailand, and penalties for the purchase of such goods.

An interview with Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, an attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property team, will be featured in the Bangkok Metro News, produced by Nine Plus Television Co., Ltd. During the interview, Yuwadee will discuss current issues relating to counterfeit goods in Thailand, and she will provide viewers with an introduction to the Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods. The program will be broadcasted in a series of six ten-minute segments from Monday, May 28, to Monday, June 4, and will air at 11.30 a.m. daily on TrueVisions 76.

To commemorate World Intellectual Property Day, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ho Chi Minh City and Tilleke & Gibbins are joining forces to host a seminar on counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights in Vietnam, featuring guest speaker Dr. Pham Hong Quat from the Ministry of Science and Technology. The event will take place at noon on April 25 at the Renaissance Riverside Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
