MIP Asia Awards 2018: Tilleke & Gibbins Named Vietnam Firm of the Year

Tilleke & Gibbins was named Firm of the Year for Vietnam at the first-ever Managing Intellectual Property  Asia Awards, held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong on the evening of March 21. The Asia Awards were spun off this year from Managing IP’s  Global Awards, reflecting the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific region in the field of intellectual property.

The 2018 award marks the fifth straight year that Tilleke & Gibbins has been honored by Managing IP  as Vietnam’s top firm. “It is always a great honor to receive this award,” said Thomas J. Treutler, managing director of the firm’s Vietnam offices. “It reflects not only the strength and depth of our team, but also the high quality of the clients that we are able to serve.”

Tilleke & Gibbins took home two additional trophies on the night, winning Firm of the Year for Thailand as well as Asia-Pacific CSR Firm of the Year.

Managing Intellectual Property  is a leading publication in the IP field, known for its highly regarded IP Stars firm rankings, as well as its annual awards, which recognize the top IP firms around the world, based on the results of extensive market research and client and peer interviews.

Law.com International has unveiled the shortlists for the Asia Legal Awards 2024, and Tilleke & Gibbins has been nominated for awards in four categories.  The nominations include:  Southeast Asia Firm of the Year  Intellectual Property Firm of the Year (Asia-wide)  M&A Firm of the Year (Asia-wide)  TMT Firm of the Year (Asia-wide)   In addition to these regional firm nominations, Tilleke & Gibbins has also been acknowledged for its exceptional work in the field of restructuring and insolvency. The efforts of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution team in connection with Thai AirAsia X’s business rehabilitation plan earned the firm a nomination for Restructuring and Insolvency Matter of the Year.   The winners of the Asia Legal Awards 2024 will be unveiled on March 14 at an in-person event in Singapore. Tilleke & Gibbins once again earned high marks across all six jurisdictions in the 2024 rankings from The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, which was released on January 17. This year, Tilleke & Gibbins’ rankings reflect continued excellence in the practice area rankings, plus new individual recognitions for eight more Tilleke & Gibbins practitioners. For the third year running, Darani Vachanavuttivong, managing partner of Tilleke & Gibbins and managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ regional intellectual property (IP) department, was included in the recently released “Asia Top 15 IP Lawyers 2023” from Asian Legal Business (ALB).
