Darani Vachanavuttivong, managing partner and managing director of the firm’s intellectual property (IP) practice, has been recognized in the ALB Asia Top Female Lawyers 2026 list published by Asian Legal Business (ALB). The annual list honors 20 outstanding female lawyers from across Asia who have demonstrated exceptional legal expertise, leadership, and impact in their respective fields. Notably, Darani is the only lawyer from Thailand included in this year’s ranking.

This marks Darani Vachanavuttivong’s fourth appearance on ALB’s prestigious list. Her continued inclusion reflects her longstanding contributions to the legal profession, leadership within the intellectual property field, and the strong reputation she has earned among clients and peers throughout the region. Widely recognized as one of Southeast Asia’s leading intellectual property practitioners, Darani has played a key role in shaping and strengthening IP protection and enforcement strategies for clients across a broad range of industries.

Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine has released the 2022 edition of IAM Patent 1000 from, and Tilleke & Gibbins’ patent practice in Vietnam was once again recognized with a Gold Band ranking. This is the seventh time that Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam practice has been recognized as a top firm in Vietnam by the guide. In its editorial on the firm, IAM Patent 1000 writes that in Vietnam “Tilleke & Gibbins is a local powerhouse” responsible for “handling roughly 12% of all filings in the country.” The editorial especially notes the satisfaction of clients working with Tilleke & Gibbins’ patent team, citing as an example a source who praises the team’s expertise and responsiveness. Tilleke & Gibbins’ patent practice in Thailand has garnered a top-tier ranking in the latest edition of IAM Patent 1000 from Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine. This is the tenth consecutive year that Tilleke & Gibbins has been listed in the gold band—IAM Patent 1000’s highest distinction—in the guide to the top patent professionals around the world. In its editorial on the firm, IAM Patent 1000 pointed to Tilleke & Gibbins’ strong reputation, noting that the firm “has the respect of patrons, peers and the government, with several of its experts recruited to sit on IP reform drafting committees.” In highlighting the Tilleke & Gibbins’ “innovative mindset,” the editorial gives the example of the firm’s cannabis advisory group formed as an immediate response to Thailand’s liberalization of cannabis restriction in recent years. The June 2022 issue of Asian Legal Business (ALB) includes their Top 15 Female Lawyers feature—an annual list of the leading women in legal practice across Asia. Included in the list is Tilleke & Gibbins managing partner Darani Vachanavuttivong, who is also managing director of the firm’s intellectual property department. She is the only lawyer from Thailand to be named to this year’s list. Directly following the announcement of the Top 15 Female Lawyers in the magazine is a roundtable article titled “Women Leaders Forge a New Path.” This article features insights and opinions from leaders at law firm throughout Asia, including extensive quotes from Darani and her fellow managing partner, Tiziana Sucharitkul. Darani and Tiziana shared some of their experiences and advice, and discussed some of Tilleke & Gibbins’ approaches—particularly toward diversity and inclusion. Announced at a ceremony in Singapore on May 25, the awards recognize the top legal service providers in Southeast Asia over the past year.
