Clinical Trial Forum 2012 to Feature Tilleke & Gibbins Pharmaceutical Expert

On June 28, 2012, Dr. Atthachai Homhuan, senior consultant in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property and regulatory affairs groups, will be presenting at the 3rd Annual Clinical Trial Forum at the Patumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok.

Dr. Atthachai will provide an overview of the regulatory process with regard to clinical trials, how to overcome patent roadblocks in Asia, and a detailed analysis of the trial approval process in Thailand. He will also give evaluated examples of past legal actions, and subsequently will share some of his own perspective and advice on issues and concerns in the area.

The Annual Clinical Trial Forum, organized by Lawson Marsh Events, is a two-day event involving some of Thailand’s largest research institutions, with several speakers and large corporate participants. This year it will cover the following topics:

  • Update on regulatory framework and clinical trial agreements
  • Government and private sector research facilities
  • Vaccine trials (Phase I, II, III) of HIV/AIDS vaccine
  • TB drug development
  • Practical guidance for Phase I, II, III, and IV trials

Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of the intellectual property department at Tilleke & Gibbins, will participate in a panel discussion on agribusiness and food at the “4th ASEAN-EU Business Summit 2015,” a forum cohosted by the EU-ASEAN Business Council and the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum will include discussions on ASEAN integration, opportunities for international businesses and SMEs, obstacles in the journey toward a single ASEAN market, and the lessons learned from the European integration project.

Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of the intellectual property department, Dr. Atthachai Homhuan, manager of regulatory affairs, and Siradapat Ratanakorn, consultant, in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will speak at an AmCham Food & Agribusiness Committee event titled “Thai FDA and Department of Livestock Development: Legal & Regulatory Update.” The session will focus on the legislative impact of Thailand’s new Drug Bill, the Animal Feed Quality Control Act 2015, the FDA’s food labeling schemes, and the Licensing Facilitation Act.
