Chusert Supasitthumrong Speaks to AustCham Members on Employers’ Responses to the COVID-19 Crisis

On April 2, Chusert Supasitthumrong, a partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department, will lead a webinar for members of the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) to discuss various options employers in Thailand have for dealing with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While some businesses have been able to transition their personnel to working remotely, others cannot avoid the negative impacts of the current situation and are faced with difficult decisions regarding their human resources. It is crucial that employers be fully informed of the legal implications and potential ramifications of any staffing decision before actually going through with it. Chusert will discuss some of the various actions that employers can take, and steps they should follow in order to remain compliant with Thai labor law. Such compliance is an important consideration at this time, as unmeasured actions in the heat of the present turmoil could lead to serious labor disputes after the crisis passes. Chusert is one of Tilleke & Gibbins’ employment specialists working to keep employers informed throughout this trying situation.

For more details on the webinar please visit the AustCham event page. Please note that the webinar is only open to AustCham members.
