Bangkok Biz News Interviews David Lyman on H.M. Bhumibol Adulyadej and Business in Thailand

Bangkok Biz News (Krungthep Turakij)

David Lyman, chairman and chief values officer at Tilleke & Gibbins, was interviewed by Bangkok Biz News, known in Thai as Krungthep Thurakij, on business in Thailand after the passing of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Commenting on the drop in income from exports, David said that this is partially due to the slow recovery of the world economy. He then reiterated the King’s remarks on the importance of sustainable development and preserving the environment. The government should place emphasis on managing funds and developing infrastructure.

Reminiscing on the opportunities he has had to meet His Majesty the King, David said, “His Majesty King Bhumibol is a King who is open-minded, kind to everyone, and knowledgeable in many fields,” and he emphasized the King’s ability to comfortably “talk to people of all races, religions, and occupations.”

Krungthep Turakij  is one of Thailand’s leading newspapers focused on the business environment. If you would like to read the full article (in Thai), please visit the Bangkok Biz News website (subscription required).
