Athistha Chitranukroh and Chusert Supasitthumrong Honored with ILO Client Choice Awards

Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh and Chusert Supasitthumrong, partners in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Bangkok office, have both won 2019 International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Awards for their Insurance and Employment and Benefits practices respectively. ILO Client Choice Awards recognize legal practitioners that demonstrate outstanding customer service and provide the highest quality legal advice in their practice areas and jurisdictions.

Nominations and winners for these prestigious awards were selected through a thorough research process that included a readership survey and data collection at in-house counsel events. The data collected was used to judge nominees based on quality of legal advice, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, tailored fee structures, effective communication, and use of technology, among other things. Winners were announced at the annual 2019 Client Choice Awards ceremony at One Great George Street in London, on February 7, 2019.

Aaron and Michael will offer their perspective on both Thailand and Myanmar.

On February 18, 2014, Chambers Asia-Pacific released its annual rankings for law firms and individual lawyers. The rankings were determined through investigations carried out by over 140 researchers, who took into account several factors, including feedback obtained from client interviews, to identify the key legal practitioners in jurisdictions across the region. Individual lawyers were ranked in their practice areas, and they were assessed based on their legal knowledge and experience, their ability, their effectiveness, and their client service.

Aaron Le Marquer, a consultant and insurance specialist at Tilleke & Gibbins, has been interviewed by Asia Insurance Intelligence magazine for his views on the current state of the Thai insurance market.Commenting on the Thai insurance industry regulator, the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), Aaron said that a particular focus of the OIC in recent years has been to try to ensure better capital adequacy. “In 2013, that meant the introduction of risk-based capital requirements whereas previously there had been flat capital requirements,” he said.
