POSITION SUMMARY

Areas of Responsibility

Legal Practice

  • Advise clients on a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including providing general and in-depth advice on Thai labor laws and regulations; reviewing and revising work rules and HR policies, employment agreements, and other related documents; localizing internal policies; and giving labor and employment presentations to personnel.
  • Advise local and international clients on all aspects of labor law issues, including labor protection, employment agreements, work rules and regulations, HR policies, due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, workforce restructuring, social security, workmen’s compensation, transfers of employment, and termination of employment.
  • Draft, review, and amend a wide range of employment-related commercial agreements, including independent contractor agreements, employment transfer agreements, service agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, outsourcing agreements, and termination notices.
  • Perform legal research when and as necessary to resolve legal issues and determine the appropriate course of action regarding a particular issue/case.

Client Development & Work and Relationships Management

  • Regularly publish articles and give presentations that increase the firm’s visibility, which results in new business opportunities.
  • Participate in crafting proposals and pitch for new business from current or prospective clients.
  • Identify and participate in relevant conferences as agreed partner(s)/department heads.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage projects and matters well.
  • Manage other administrative tasks in professional and timely manners such as time recording, invoicing, billing and chasing aged-debt, matter opening, conflicts of interest, etc.

 

Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience handling labor and employment law matters.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations concerning labor protection, employment agreements, work rules and regulations, workforce restructuring, work permits, visas, etc.

Skills & Attitudes

  • Communication skills – have excellent written and spoken skills in both Thai and English.
  • Organizational skills – be able to effectively manage multiple assignments and prioritize work.
  • Legal mindset – be able to apply legal principles and draw on experience to develop legal strategies and solve legal problems.
  • Service mindset – demonstrate true commitment in achieving positive matter outcomes for clients and be able to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Commercial thinking – possess strong business acumen, keep up to date with market trends, and be able to identify business opportunities for the firm.
