Yuwadee Thean-ngarm to Join Webinar on Counterfeiting and Brand Protection in Myanmar

On July 3, Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ office in Yangon, will be featured as an external intellectual property expert in a webinar cohosted by the European Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (EuroCham Myanmar) and the European Union Southeast Asia Intellectual Property Rights SME Helpdesk (EU SEA IPR SME Helpdesk). During the session, Yuwadee will explain the process for brand owners to obtain protection for their intellectual property rights in Myanmar, provide an overview of anti-counterfeiting measures available to brand owners, and highlight the importance of brand protection in the jurisdiction by sharing real-life case studies of successful enforcement actions in the country. In addition, Yuwadee will provide a glimpse into Myanmar’s new IP laws and explain how they will affect anti-counterfeiting measures in the jurisdiction, once they are enforced.
