Yuwadee Thean-ngarm and Sher Hann Chua Discuss Trademark Re-filing under Myanmar’s New Trademark Law

On September 8, 2020, Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Yangon office, and Sher Hann Chua, a consultant in the firm’s regional intellectual property practice, will deliver an English-language webinar entitled “Myanmar’s New Trademark Law: What Brand Owners Need to Know.” During this online session, Yuwadee and Sher Hann will provide an overview of the soft opening period of the Myanmar Department of Intellectual Property under the country’s new trademark law, during which time existing holders of registered trademarks in Myanmar will be required to re-file their marks in order retain protection under the new system. In addition, the two speakers will detail practical steps that companies can take now to ensure their trademarks are protected, and respond to complex questions through an extended Q&A session.
