IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners 2016  has placed Tilleke & Gibbins at the top of the legal market for patent work in Vietnam. Only seven other firms were included in the rankings. This is the first edition of IAM Patent 1000  in which rankings were included for Vietnam. 

In the editorial accompanying the rankings, which cites feedback obtained from interviews conducted by researchers and analysts at Intellectual Asset Management, one patent practitioner said, “Tilleke & Gibbins is probably one of the few major foreign players in [Vietnam] conducting substantial patent litigation and is certainly at the top of the class when it comes to results.” Continuing, the editorial praises Thomas J. Treutler, managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices, as “the engine of the firm’s success.” Loc Xuan Le, head of IP enforcement in the firm, “maintains a thriving enforcement practice.” In addition, Thomas and Loc were both ranked as leading individuals by IAM Patent 1000.   

The research to determine the rankings was conducted over five months, and it included more than 1,500 interviews of attorneys and in-house counsel.
