Tilleke & Gibbins’ Regional Employment Practice Wins at Benchmark Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards 2020

Tilleke & Gibbins was named Asia-Pacific Labour and Employment Firm of the Year at the recently announced Benchmark Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards 2020. The award recognizes the firm’s strength over the past year across the full range of contentious labor matters, from labor-management relations conflicts to disputes over alleged employee wrongdoing and unfair termination lawsuits.

Tilleke & Gibbins was also named first runner-up in two firm categories—Thailand Firm of the Year, and Asia-Pacific Intellectual Property Firm of the Year. In addition, Chusert Supasitthumrong, a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution department and head of the firm’s labor disputes practice, was named first runner up in the Thailand Lawyer of the Year category.

Benchmark Litigation has announced the winners of the Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific Awards 2023, and Tilleke & Gibbins was recognized with an Impact Case of the Year award for the firm’s successful representation of Alibaba in a dispute related to intellectual property infringement allegations. The case, which was led by the firm’s intellectual property litigation team, involved defending Alibaba against claims regarding the liability of e-commerce platforms for indirect intellectual property infringement. The favorable judgment in the case was Thailand’s first to rule on e-commerce platform liability for intellectual property infringement. More details on the case are available at the link above.
