Tilleke & Gibbins Promotes Somboon Earterasarun to Partner

Regional Southeast Asian law firm Tilleke & Gibbins is delighted to announce the promotion of Somboon Earterasarun to the firm’s partnership, effective January 2017.

As a member of the firm’s market-leading intellectual property practice, Somboon advises multinational clients doing business across Southeast Asia, while also managing the valuable IP portfolios of Thai companies that are expanding into international markets. Over the past three years, he has led the firm’s operations in Indonesia, overseeing the growth of a team that was recently recognized by Legal 500  as “client oriented” and “highly efficient.” Somboon has been singled out as a top IP practitioner by Legal 500, Intellectual Asset Management, World IP Review, and World Trademark Review, and in 2015 he was named to the Asian Legal Business  “40 Under 40” list, placing him among the brightest lawyers under the age of 40 across Asia.

“As our firm continues to grow regionally, Somboon has served as a role model for the type of international perspective and client focus we expect from our attorneys,” said Darani Vachanavuttivong, Co-Managing Partner and Managing Director, Intellectual Property, at Tilleke & Gibbins. “He has quickly built one of the top IP teams in Indonesia, and we believe that as a partner he will have even more to offer to our clients across the region.”

In his role as a partner, Somboon will continue to work with the firm’s clients in Indonesia, while also taking on a broader regional role within the practice.
