Tilleke & Gibbins Named Vietnam IP Firm of the Year by Managing Intellectual Property

Managing Intellectual Property

Tilleke & Gibbins is proud to announce that it has been named Vietnam IP Firm of the Year by distinguished industry publication Managing Intellectual Property. The award was announced at Managing IP’s 8th Global Awards ceremony, a black-tie affair held at the Dorchester in London on the evening of March 15, with more than 200 in attendance.

Managing IP’s Global Awards are the culmination of an in-depth, five-month screening process conducted by researchers in London, New York, and Hong Kong, and reflect the opinions of clients and peers of the law firms under consideration.

With its rapidly growing practice in Vietnam, Tilleke & Gibbins had been shortlisted for this award in 2009, 2010, and 2011 before claiming the top prize this year.

“Tilleke & Gibbins has been a dominant player in IP in Thailand for decades, and our goal was to replicate that success here—to become the premier intellectual property law firm in Vietnam,” said Thomas J. Treutler, Partner and Managing Director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices. “So we are thrilled to receive this recognition from a publication like Managing IP, whose opinion carries so much weight in this industry.“

“This award recognizes all the hard work Ms. Nga Thi Phi Nguyen, Department Head for IP, and her entire team have put in over the past few years,” Treutler added, “and it reflects our ability to recognize, attract, and retain top-notch talent. We hope this is just the first of many such awards from Managing IP. ”

Earlier this month, Tilleke & Gibbins announced the hiring of veteran IP enforcement lawyers Le Xuan Loc and Linh Duy Mai from Pham & Associates to bolster its IP Enforcement team.
