Tilleke & Gibbins Indonesia Honored in 2020 IAM Patent 1000 Rankings

In the latest edition of IAM Patent 1000  from Intellectual Asset Management  (IAM ) magazine, Tilleke & Gibbins was recognized as one of a small number of top patent practices in the Indonesia.

As noted in the editorial on the firm, IAM Patent 1000  notes that “the Jakarta office of Tilleke & Gibbins is an integral part of its regional dominance.” Wongrat Ratanaprayul, head of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Indonesia office, is singled out as an outstanding practitioner for her knowledge, technical expertise, and success in leading the Jakarta office.

The rankings are based on several months of in-depth research and market analysis conducted by IAM researchers. Recognizing Tilleke & Gibbins as “a force to be reckoned with in the ASEAN region,” IAM Patent 1000  also awarded top marks to the firm’s offices in Thailand and Vietnam.

Asia IP  has recognized Tilleke & Gibbins for landmark cases the firm has handled in Myanmar and Thailand. In Myanmar, Tilleke & Gibbins’ representation of Lacoste, a leading French clothing company, was highlighted for our success in a trademark infringement action despite the country lacking a trademark law. In Thailand, our work on behalf of Dsquared2, an international fashion brand, was highlighted as the defendants were ordered to pay our client the highest amount of compensation in the history of trademark litigation cases, on the basis of passing off.

Alan Adcock, a partner in the intellectual property and regulatory affairs groups at Tilleke & Gibbins, has been named one of just six winners of the annual Volunteer Service Awards granted by the International Trademark Association (INTA). Granted the award in the “Advancement of Trademark Law” category, Alan was recognized for his activity on behalf of INTA and trademark owners in in the area of standardized packaging and regulatory encroachment on IP rights across a range of industries.
