On June 1, 2021, Thailand will become the latest country to require companies to meet strict data protection requirements under the country’s Personal Data Protection Act (the PDPA)—a new data protection law inspired by the European General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR). This new piece of legislation will include the requirement for some organizations to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO), and for companies acting as the controller or processor of data belonging to data subject within Thailand to obtain consent for their activities in many circumstances.

By popular demand, the webinar will also include a short update on the legal impact of Brexit on data protection laws for companies with operations in both the EU and the UK.
