Tilleke & Gibbins Earns Three Honors at IAM/WTR Global IP Awards 2023

Tilleke & Gibbins won awards for three jurisdictions at the recent Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) and World Trademark Review (WTR) Global IP Awards 2023.

The firm’s achievements in the field of intellectual property in the past year led to the following awards:

  • Indonesia Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year
  • Thailand Patent Firm of the Year
  • Vietnam IP Firm of the Year

The awards ceremony celebrated exceptional accomplishments by IP firms and professionals on a global scale. A total of 169 awards were presented to winners representing various jurisdictions.

Tilleke & Gibbins has consistently excelled in the Global IP Awards, winning the titles of Thailand and Vietnam IP Firm of the Year every year since the event’s inception in 2019. This year’s third win is a milestone for the firm, as it is the first time Tilleke & Gibbins has been honored as the Indonesia Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year.

The Global IP Awards, first launched in 2019, recognize the outstanding achievements of law firms and attorneys in IP litigation, prosecution, and transactional work. The awards were announced at a ceremony in London on September 15. With a focus on trademark and patent work, the awards for Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property practices in Thailand and Vietnam reflect the firm’s regional dominance in these fields.

Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner of Tilleke & Gibbins and managing director of the firm’s intellectual property practice, was awarded the global International Trademark Association (INTA) Membership Champion Award at the 2021 INTA Annual Meeting Virtual+, which took place on November 15–19. INTA grants the annual Membership Champion award in recognition of a member’s dedication to helping grow INTA membership, increase awareness of the association, and promote member benefits. The award is given to just one member from INTA’s entire global membership each year. In granting the award, INTA highlighted Darani’s passion for intellectual property law and her commitment to INTA, exemplified through her efforts as chair of the Asia-Pacific Sub-Committee of INTA’s Global Advisory Council and her continued efforts to promote collaboration with brand owners and government agencies. The award was presented in a special video message by Ms. Tiki Dare, president of INTA, during the hybrid global gathering. On November 10, 2021, Tilleke & Gibbins was awarded a CSR Recognition at the 2021 AMCHAM CSR Excellence Awards, hosted online by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Thailand. This is the second consecutive year that the firm was recognized at these awards, which celebrate companies in Thailand with sustainable business practices such as good governance, social responsibility, business integrity, stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated delivery of positive impacts on the society and environment. The awards bring together AMCHAM member companies each year to highlight exceptional corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects by American and Thai companies, with the aim of encouraging businesses to recognize the value of giving back to the community. This year, winning companies received a certificate marking the recognition, along with congratulatory letters from the chargé d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy and the president of AMCHAM Thailand.
