Tilleke & Gibbins Earns Three Honors at IAM/WTR Global IP Awards 2023

Tilleke & Gibbins won awards for three jurisdictions at the recent Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) and World Trademark Review (WTR) Global IP Awards 2023.

The firm’s achievements in the field of intellectual property in the past year led to the following awards:

  • Indonesia Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year
  • Thailand Patent Firm of the Year
  • Vietnam IP Firm of the Year

The awards ceremony celebrated exceptional accomplishments by IP firms and professionals on a global scale. A total of 169 awards were presented to winners representing various jurisdictions.

Tilleke & Gibbins has consistently excelled in the Global IP Awards, winning the titles of Thailand and Vietnam IP Firm of the Year every year since the event’s inception in 2019. This year’s third win is a milestone for the firm, as it is the first time Tilleke & Gibbins has been honored as the Indonesia Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year.

The Global IP Awards, first launched in 2019, recognize the outstanding achievements of law firms and attorneys in IP litigation, prosecution, and transactional work. The awards were announced at a ceremony in London on September 15. With a focus on trademark and patent work, the awards for Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property practices in Thailand and Vietnam reflect the firm’s regional dominance in these fields.

Managing IP magazine, which has been rolling out its highly regarded IP Stars rankings in stages this year, recently released the results of its patent survey, and Tilleke & Gibbins earned high rankings across key Southeast Asian jurisdictions: Thailand – Tier 1 for the 20th consecutive year Vietnam – Tier 1 for the 8th consecutive year Indonesia – Tier 2 for the 3rd consecutive year The rankings show not only the firm’s excellence in patent work across the region but also its consistency—two decades in Tier 1 for Thailand, with the firm’s Vietnam practice getting close to a decade of its own. Even the relatively new Indonesia operations have been recognized in each of the past three years, and in this latest edition only two firms in Indonesia are ranked above Tilleke & Gibbins. Managing IP does not yet provide patent rankings for Tilleke & Gibbins’ other jurisdictions, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. The latest edition of IAM Patent 1000 from Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine recognizes the Tilleke & Gibbins patent team in Indonesia as one of the top patent practices in the country. In the editorial on the firm, IAM Patent 1000 notes that domestic and international clients alike are pleased with Tilleke & Gibbins’ efficiency, responsiveness, and sound advice.
