Tilleke & Gibbins and NIA to Hold IP Lunch Talk on Medical Devices

On September 21, 2012, Tilleke & Gibbins, together with the National Innovation Agency, will host a Thai-language seminar on “Medical Devices: Opportunities & Regulations.” The seminar with consist of three presentations, one of which will be conducted by Rarana Phanudulkitti, a consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins. With her expertise in regulatory affairs, Rarana will deal specifically with registering medical devices in Thailand, with an emphasis on best practices for companies in ensuring a smooth registration process.

The other presentations will be conducted by notable representatives in the industry. The first is by Preecha Bhandtivej, president of the Thai Medical Device Technology Industry Association (THAIMED), who will provide an overview of the opportunities available to and readiness of the Thai medical device industry, in view of the ASEAN Economic Community. The final presentation will be carried out by Chapol Rattanapan, director of the Medical Device Control Division of the Thai FDA, who will give the government’s perspective on the industry. There will also be a Q&A session to conclude the Lunch Talk.

Treutler and Loc Xuan Le, representing the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk, will speak to business mission delegates from European healthcare and medical device companies at two events in Ho Chi Minh City on July 31 and August 1. The events are part of the EU Business Avenues program, an EU-funded initiative helping European SMEs in various industries to extend their business to Southeast Asian markets.
