The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021: Tilleke & Gibbins Ranked as Top Performer in Southeast Asia

The newly released rankings in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021 have identified Tilleke & Gibbins as a leading firm in all six of its jurisdictions throughout Southeast Asia.

The firm’s performance was especially strong in Thailand, where Tilleke & Gibbins was ranked highly in all 15 possible practice areas, including five coveted Tier 1 rankings in Customs and International Trade, IP, Labor and Employment, TMT, and Tax. Notable upward movement in the rankings includes a Tier 2 ranking for Projects and Energy, reflecting the consistently excellent work of the firm’s energy practice, and a new Tier 3 ranking in Restructuring and Insolvency, based on equally strong work from the Tilleke & Gibbins restructuring team, which advised major automotive, aviation, insurance, and other clients in significant, high-profile business restructuring matters.

Tilleke & Gibbins in Vietnam had a similarly impressive showing, with rankings in 12 categories, including a debut at Tier 1 in the guide’s inaugural Data Protection category. Other Tier 1 rankings for the firm’s offices in Vietnam include Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment, and TMT.

Tilleke & Gibbins also defended its high rankings for its other offices in Southeast Asia, with Leading Firm rankings in Cambodia and Laos, plus rankings for Corporate and M&A in Myanmar and Intellectual Property in Indonesia.

The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021 is also a guide to outstanding individual lawyers in the Asia Pacific region, with a total of 16 current Tilleke & Gibbins lawyers appearing in the rankings, plus many others noted in the guide’s accompanying editorials.
