Industry publication Asian Legal Business is reporting on the hiring of American lawyer Jim Dao by Tilleke & Gibbins. Joining the firm’s Ho Chi Minh City office, Jim is an experienced corporate attorney whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, company formation, and strategic investment advice for multinational corporations and private investment funds doing business in Vietnam.

In 2013 edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific, nine attorneys at Tilleke & Gibbins have been individually recognized for their outstanding work on behalf of their clients over the past year. The following individuals were named leaders in their respective practice areas for Thailand and Vietnam:

Leading Southeast Asian regional law firm Tilleke & Gibbins has promoted four attorneys to the firm’s partnership, effective January 2013.Coming from across the major practice groups in the firm’s Bangkok office, the new partners include Charunun Sathitsuksomboon and Kobkit Thienpreecha of the firm’s corporate and commercial group, Chusert Supasitthumrong of the dispute resolution department, and Sukontip Jitmongkolthong of the intellectual property team.

Recognizing the firm’s status in the upper echelon of the Thai legal market, Chambers and Partners has nominated Tilleke & Gibbins for its Thailand Law Firm of the Year award. The firm is one of six shortlisted candidates for the award, with the winner set to be announced at the Chambers Asia Pacific Awards on March 1, 2013.
