Suebsiri Taweepon to Discuss IP Strategy at Digital Economy Event

On November 9, 2017, Suebsiri Taweepon, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will deliver a presentation entitled “Intellectual Property Strategy for Businesses in Thailand – Focus on ICT Sector” at an evening networking event hosted by the Thai-European Business Association in collaboration with the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce. Under the theme “Tools for Success in The Digital Economy – Winning by Being Digital,” the event will feature speakers looking at the growth of Thailand’s digital economy, as well as the legal issues stemming from disruption.

The event is being supported by the SEA IPR SME Helpdesk (Southeast Asia Intellectual Property Rights Helpdesk for Small and Medium Enterprises), which aims to provide foreign SMEs investing in Southeast Asian jurisdictions with the tools they need to protect their assets.

Suebsiri’s presentation will provide participants with IP tips and recommendations for the Thai marketplace, supported by practical examples from his extensive experience. It will be followed by an evening of networking and cocktails.

Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh, partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group and co-head of the firm’s technology practice, recently joined a panel under the topic of “Lawyers and Digital Asset Laws” at the Thai FinTech Association (TFTA) Forum #4: Digital Asset Talks in Bangkok.During the panel, Athistha was quoted by the TFTA, a technology startup accelerator chaired by Korn Chatikavanij, the former finance minister of Thailand, and comprised of over 100 members from the public and private sectors.
