On April 28, Kobkit Thienpreecha, partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group, and Varapa Aurat, head of the firm’s tax practice, will present a pragmatic webinar discussing relief measures the Thai government has implemented to lessen the burden on Thai companies and their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On April 28, Saithong Rattana, attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vientiane office, will join a webinar hosted by the China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Center (CALCC) to discuss the Lao government’s response to the COVID-19 crisis. During the session, Saithong will provide an overview of the measures that have already been implemented in Laos to protect the general public and businesses most impacted by the outbreak, and explain the impact on the virus has on employment in the jurisdiction.

In an attempt to alleviate business and economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Thai government has announced and implemented several temporary relief measures aimed at assisting companies in Thailand during these trying times. To date, these measures cover a variety of high-impact areas including corporate requirements, visa and immigration obligations, tax filing, and other allowance schemes, with additional relaxations expected on the horizon.

On April 22, Cynthia M. Pornavalai, a partner in the firm’s corporate and commercial group, will lead a legal and compliance webinar for startup entrepreneurs and developers as part of Plug and Play’s Thailand Accelerator Program.
