Somboon Earterasarun to Speak at a Human Resource Development Seminar at the Lao Department of Intellectual Property

On November 8, 2017, Somboon Earterasarun, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will give a speech on the development and role of IP human resources in Lao private companies, as part of a seminar entitled “Human Resource Development for Smooth Management of IPR System.”

The seminar is being jointly conducted by the Lao Intellectual Property Department and the Japan Patent Office, and is part of an international series of events for alumni of training events held in Japan by the Japan External Trade Organization and the Asia-Pacific Industrial Property Center, aimed at developing human resources in developing countries.

The event will include insightful speeches and Q&A sessions by intellectual property and human resource professionals from Japan, Laos, and across the region. The event will be conducted in Thai, Lao, English, and Japanese, and is by invitation only.

In its recently released 2019 IP world survey, Managing Intellectual Property  (MIP ) named eight Tilleke & Gibbins lawyers as “IP Stars” in Thailand and Vietnam. The IP Stars honors are reserved for the top global practitioners working in the fields of patents and trademarks. They are selected based on client and peer recommendations in their jurisdiction, with only the most commended practitioners being listed in the final results of the annual survey. All eight Tilleke & Gibbins 2019 IP Stars are repeat recipients of this honor.
