Somboon Earterasarun to Speak at Brand Restriction Event in Jakarta

On August 6, 2018, Somboon Earterasarun, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department, will speak at an event at the Ayana Midplaza Hotel Jakarta hosted jointly by the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Indonesian Association of Intellectual Property Attorneys (AKHKI), the Directorate General of Intellectual Property-Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Masyarakat Indonesia Anti Pemalsuan (MIAP).

The event, entitled “Brand Restriction: The Impact to the Global Economy and the IP Perspective” is intended to demonstrate and address the damage created by brand restrictions. The event is also aimed at opening a private/public sector dialogue on current cross-field regulations on brand restrictions, and the direction and objectives of the future policy, and will provide a platform for government institutions, practitioners, stakeholders, and industries alike to share their experiences of brand restrictions in practice. Somboon has been invited to contribute his experiences, and in particular to provide recent examples of the work of INTA’s Emerging Issues Committee, and the progress made by its Brand Restrictions Subcommittee.

The event is open to approximately 100 government representatives and industry professionals by invitation only.
