Seminar on March 23 – Procurement Policy: From New Law to Practice

Thailand’s Public Procurement Act B.E. 2560 (2017) was published in the Government Gazette on February 24, 2017, and entered into force on August 23, 2017. The objective of the new law is to standardize governmental procurement and supplies management by establishing standard criteria for all government agencies to follow.

This act introduces major changes to the government’s procurement process, principles of operator selection, registration of operators, annual procurement planning by government agencies, and the role of the civil society sector and operators in anti-corruption.

To advise on important provisions and how business operators can comply with the new law, Tilleke & Gibbins is organizing a seminar on “Procurement Policy: From New Law to Practice” on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the firm’s Bangkok office. The seminar program will be conducted in Thai and will cover the following topics:

  • The new Public Procurement Act and what business operators should know
  • Procurement guidelines for business operators according to the Comptroller General’s Department
  • Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) and related systems
  • Electronic Market (e-Market) and Electronic Bidding (e-Bidding)
  • Framework of good pharmaceutical procurement under the new act
  • Anti-corruption policy in procurement and private subsidy

The seminar will feature presentations from Dr. Anunchai Assawamakin, Lecturer, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University; Ms. Supitcha Anankittikul, Specialist, Comptroller General’s Department; and Mr. Prompong Vanijsombati, Corruption Officer (Practitioner Level), National Anti-Corruption Commission.
