Sasirusm (Roll) B. Chunhakasikarn to Speak as a Panelist on Family Law at LAWASIA Conference

Sasirusm (Roll) B. Chunhakasikarn, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution team, will serve as a panelist among five other highly distinguished speakers to discuss the topic “When the Honeymoon Is Over: Examining the Cross-Border Enforcement of Spousal and Child Support and Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements,” at LAWASIA’s 5th Family Law and Children’s Rights Conference. Roll will speak on financial disclosure and investigations for matrimonial asset division, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, child support requests and enforcement, cross-border enforcement, alimony, calculating maintenance and support, and alteration of support orders.

LAWASIA is an international association of lawyers, judges, legal academics, and others, which connects the legal profession in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference will take place from July 3 to 5 in Sapporo, Japan. Roll will speak as a panelist on July 5 from 1.50 p.m. to 3.20 p.m., Japan time. As a speaker, he will discuss arbitration in Thailand, including its strengths and weaknesses versus court processes. Serving as a panelist, Michael will discuss the benefits of the hybrid approach to dispute resolution.

Michael Ramirez, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution group, will speak on the topic “Dealing with Evidence in International Arbitration: The Application of the IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence in International Arbitration” at the International Bar Association’s Asia Pacific Arbitration Group Training Day, an event that focuses on best practices in international arbitration. Michael will discuss the general landscape of arbitration in Myanmar and whether or not the IBA rules are used in the country.
