Presentation on Liability Risks for Directors and Officers at Dataconsult Forum

Chaiwat Keratisuthisathorn, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group, has been invited to speak at a panel, “Bosses Beware: The Dangers of Being a Director, Officer, or Occupier in Thailand’s Corporate Minefield,” at the Thailand Regional Forum Dinner Meeting.

Joining Chaiwat as a panelist will be Frank Timmons, chartered director at the Thailand Institute of Directors and managing director of Apichet Technology, with Paul Gambles, managing director of MBMG Group, and Christopher Bruton, executive director of Dataconsult, serving as moderators. The dinner event will be attended by prominent business leaders from a range of industries in Thailand.

Chaiwat, an expert on corporate formation and regulatory compliance, will be sharing his legal insights on the potential civil and criminal liabilities for directors and officers in Thailand, case studies, as well as measures for minimizing risk through care and diligence, and suitable insurance coverage.

At the invitation of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Justice, Dr. Vinh Quoc Nguyen, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Ho Chi Minh City office, will speak at a special seminar for lawyers and trainees on June 29 in Hanoi. The seminar, organized by the Hanoi Bar Association and focusing on international trade in the context of Vietnam’s international commitments, will take place at the Central Guesthouse at 8 Chu Van An from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lawyers in attendance can receive credit for compulsory professional training.

Mergers and acquisitions are expected to grow in prominence in Vietnam as the economy resets after the COVID-19 pandemic. Anticipating this impending wave of transactions, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and its arbitration unit, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), are jointly organizing a day-long training course on M&A for Vietnamese businesses. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at VCCI’s Ho Chi Minh City office.
