Presentation on Business Law in Vietnam for SMEs

With the new ASEAN Economic Community coming into place in 2015, many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand are considering their options for conducting business in Vietnam. To help entrepreneurs and SMEs prepare for their evolving role in the regional economy, the College of Graduate Study in Management at Khon Kaen University, in conjunction with the Thai Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry, recently held a seminar on “Insights for Doing Business in Vietnam.”

As part of the five-day workshop, Michael K. Lee gave a presentation on “Business Law in Vietnam.” Michael focused on the key information SMEs need to know about the laws governing investment, enterprises, land ownership, and dispute resolution in Vietnam. The presentation also covered business risk management and intellectual property issues, as well as product registration requirements for food and pharmaceuticals. The presentation was held on July 10, 2011.

Michael K. Lee is the Department Head – Corporate/Commercial in the Ho Chi Minh City office of Tilleke & Gibbins. The firm’s Vietnam offices have a wide range of experience in assisting SMEs in doing business in Vietnam. For more information, please contact Michael at [email protected].
