PLC Employment and Employee Benefits Global Guide 2018 – Myanmar Chapter

Tilleke & Gibbins has contributed to the 2018 edition of the Employment and Employee Benefits Global Guide, a Practical Law Company publication that provides an overview of employment and employee benefits in 30 jurisdictions worldwide. The Myanmar chapter of the guide was written by members of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Yangon office, including Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, director, Nwe Oo, attorney-at-law, and Sher Hann Chua, consultant.

The chapter covers a wide range of key employment topics, such as scope of employment regulations, employment status, recruitment, permission to work, regulations of the employment relationship, minimum wage, illness and injury of employees, continuous periods of employment, data protection, discrimination and harassment, termination of employment, redundancy/layoff, employee representation and consultation, health and safety obligations, taxation of employment income, proposals for reform, and more.
