Partner Nuttaphol Arammuang Joins Tilleke & Gibbins Intellectual Property Team

Tilleke & Gibbins is pleased to announce the addition of Nuttaphol Arammuang as a partner in the firm’s industry-leading intellectual property (IP) practice in Bangkok.

In his practice, Nuttaphol focuses on providing strategic counsel and representation to corporate clients seeking to protect their IP rights. He works closely with clients to develop comprehensive strategies tailored to their specific needs, helping them to capitalize on their valuable assets and navigate the complex landscape of IP law. Drawing on his extensive experience in IP litigation, Nuttaphol will play a key role in representing clients in high-stakes disputes and advocating for their rights in the courtroom. Additionally, he will collaborate with the firm’s cross-practice, multijurisdictional teams to offer innovative solutions that address evolving challenges and opportunities in the realm of IP.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Nuttaphol led teams of IP practitioners for several years as IP practice head and managing partner of the Thailand offices of two prominent regional law firms. Throughout his career, Nuttaphol has successfully handled a wide range of IP litigation cases, including pharmaceutical patent disputes, patent infringement, design infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, passing off, trademark invalidation, copyright litigation in the context of new media and technology, and obtaining preliminary injunctions and Anton Piller orders. His in-depth knowledge and strategic approach have earned him a strong reputation in the legal community.

On February 24, Tilleke & Gibbins, in collaboration with the Thai Business Association of Myanmar and the Thai Business Association of the Lao PDR, delivered a Thai-language webinar titled “How to Export Cosmetics to Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, and Parallel Importation and Case Studies in Thailand.” The 90-minute session was led by a number of Tilleke & Gibbins’ regulatory affairs (RA) specialists: Atthachai Homhuan, director of the firm’s regulatory affairs (RA) group in Bangkok; Dino Santaniello, head of the Laos office; Ratchanee Sriplaek, RA consultant in Thailand; Saithong Rattana, associate in the Laos office; Thanathon Trakoolpolpruek, RA consultant in Thailand; and Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, director of the firm’s Myanmar office. Together, the speakers addressed the following issues: Compliance with cosmetics laws and regulations in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar; Regulatory requirements for product labels and advertisements; Best practices and success stories related to exporting beauty products; Avoiding double importation; and Relevant case studies from Thailand. Noppramart Thammateeradaycho, a counsel in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution practice, has been appointed as an arbitrator by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). Noppramart is a recognized leader in international arbitration in the region, with special experience in arbitration of disputes involving the maritime, transportation, insurance, and construction sectors. Her term as an arbitrator will run until February 20, 2025. The SCIA, which was established in 1983 as China was undergoing economic reforms and liberalization, was the first arbitration institution in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. On January 21, 2022, Tilleke & Gibbins hosted a Chinese-language webinar aimed at helping clients in mainland China understand the fundamentals of Thailand’s trademark registration process. Sher Hann Chua, a consultant of the firm’s intellectual property department, led the webinar, which was titled “Trademark Registration and Prosecution in Thailand: Issues and Challenges.” During the session Sher Hann discussed the following topics: Overview of Thailand’s trademark registration procedure; Recent developments in Thailand’s trademark prosecution framework; and Common trademark registration pitfalls for Chinese companies in Thailand and how to overcome them.
