Tilleke & Gibbins has been nominated for the “Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year” award at the Asian Legal Business  ALB Indonesia Law Awards 2016, which aim to recognize outstanding firms, private practitioners, and inhouse teams that have contributed to the legal landscape of Indonesia. Metrics such as key hires and departures, complexity and breadth of work handled, innovation and improvement, impact and significance in the market, and third-party awards and recognitions are being considered to determine the winners.

Thomas J. Treutler, managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices, will participate in two panel discussions at a conference on well-known trademarks jointly organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the International Trademark Association (INTA). The protection of well-known marks is a topic of growing interest in Vietnam as the country continues to integrate into the world economy and its famous brands set their sights on regional and international markets.

Tilleke & Gibbins has received nominations in six categories in the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2016. The awards celebrate the advancement of women in the legal profession throughout the region. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong on November 9.This year, Tilleke & Gibbins has been nominated for awards in the following three firmwide categories:

Thomas J. Treutler, managing director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Vietnam offices, will share his expertise in a webinar on “IPR Protection Strategies for EU SMEs from the Niche Markets in South-East Asia,” organized by the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk. Thomas’ presentation is geared toward small and medium-sized enterprises that are seeking to enter niche markets such as Vietnam and Cambodia, and he will outline the common challenges encountered in these markets, as well as provide tips for avoiding and overcoming IPR challenges and infringements.
