Noppramart Thammateeradaycho to Speak in International Construction Arbitration Webinar

On November 11, 2020, Noppramart Thammateeradaycho, counsel in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution department, will join a webinar on international construction arbitration. Organized by the Thai Arbitration Institute (TAI), the webinar will feature insights on disputes that can arise in connection with international construction projects, and the role of arbitration in resolving these conflicts.

Noppramart’s presentation, titled “Construction Claims for Extensions of Time and Additional Costs Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic,” will focus on various challenges that contracting parties might face in the unique pressures of the current global health crisis, such as budgeting constraints, difficulty sourcing materials, and inability to fully staff construction sites. She will discuss the different possibilities and risks of contract breaches, as well as alternatives that parties can pursue in resolving the problems that arise.

Presenting on other aspects of international construction arbitration will be Wesley Pang, legal manager at Eversheds Sutherland, and Phunsho Wangdi, former attorney general of Bhutan and current senior advisor to the TAI. The event is part of the TAI webinar series, which focuses on various industries and legal areas to address risks and spread awareness of arbitration as a tool for resolving business disputes.
