Nic Garnett to Speak on Innovation and the Law at IP Lunch Talk

Nic Garnett, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, will be giving a talk on “Innovation and the Law: An International Perspective,” at the latest in a series of IP Lunch Talks jointly organized by the National Innovation Agency and Tilleke & Gibbins. Nic will discuss a number of topics, among which include:

  • The legal aspects of innovation from public and private sector viewpoints
  • The potential legal issues that need to be resolved in order to further the process of innovation
  • How state-supported innovation is organized and promoted
  • What innovative companies often need from their lawyers

The seminar will be in English, and it will be hosted at Tilleke & Gibbins’ Bangkok office on March 7, 2014. Nic’s presentation will last from 12.05 p.m. to 1.00 p.m., and it will be followed by a question and answer session. Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh, partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group and co-head of the firm’s technology practice, recently joined a panel under the topic of “Lawyers and Digital Asset Laws” at the Thai FinTech Association (TFTA) Forum #4: Digital Asset Talks in Bangkok.During the panel, Athistha was quoted by the TFTA, a technology startup accelerator chaired by Korn Chatikavanij, the former finance minister of Thailand, and comprised of over 100 members from the public and private sectors.
