Top Ten Thailand, a website that compiles interesting stories from around the world, recently sent two of their representatives to visit the Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods. Our museum was then featured in an online article, “For This Museum, You Must Look Closely,” which was published on their website.

Based on an interview with Tilleke & Gibbins attorney Parichart Monaiyakul, the article begins by defining counterfeit goods. It then goes on to detail how the museum—being one of a kind in Asia—is intended to serve as an educational tool for students, government officials, and the general public. The article also provides a detailed analysis of the counterfeit products displayed in the museum. According to the article, the most unexpected product found in the museum is counterfeit books, which the authors felt would not be worth the hassle to be produced.

Suebsiri Taweepon, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, was interviewed by Bun-tung Thai Bev for his thoughts on the subject.The program interviewed Suebsiri about the effects of buying counterfeit products on both consumers and producers of genuine goods. Suebsiri also delved into the history and origin of the museum.

Tilleke & Gibbins’ Museum of Counterfeit Goods was recently featured in a short documentary produced by the Bangkok Post  newspaper. The documentary, which delves into the harmful effects of fake goods, showcases the museum’s stock of counterfeit products and interviews Suebsiri Taweepon, an attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property group.Suebsiri was interviewed about the different types of intellectual property, the effect of counterfeit goods on companies, and the fake products housed in the museum.
