Museum of Counterfeit Goods to Be Featured on Local Television

After a recent visit to the Museum of Counterfeit Goods by representatives from a local television program, Cutie Diary, the museum will be featured on the show’s broadcast on December 24, 2012.

The program will cover an interview with Yuwadee Thean-ngarm, attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins intellectual property department. In the interview, Yuwadee discusses the history of the museum, the collection and its sources, the dangers that some counterfeit products pose to consumers, and a brief explanation of the 3P’s (price, place, and packaging) technique used to distinguish between fake and genuine goods. The interview also covers the legal consequences of counterfeiting and how intellectual property rights owners can take action in Thailand.

The program, which is produced by GMM Grammy Co., Ltd., will be aired on MAXXI TV Channel at 11 p.m. on December 24.

The story, which aims to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of Thailand’s counterfeit goods situation, will feature an in-depth interview with Wiramrudee Mokkhavesa, an attorney-at-law in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group. Based on her experience representing clients in this area, Wiramrudee will provide insight into illicit, fake goods and the efforts being made to stem the problem.
