MIP Trademark Survey Shows Tilleke & Gibbins’ Regional Dominance

The latest results of the annual trademark survey from Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) have once again recognized Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department as a leading trademark practice throughout the region.

For Thailand, Tilleke & Gibbins was ranked in Tier 1 for trademarks for the 19th consecutive year. For Vietnam, Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property practice achieved a Tier 1 ranking for the 11th year running. In the crowded Indonesia market, Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property boutique is continuing to gain recognition, with a Tier 2 ranking for trademark prosecution and a Tier 3 designation for the trademark contentious category.

MIP also ranks individual practitioners, as well as some smaller jurisdictions that only have a single category of recommended intellectual property firms. These will be released in the coming months.

Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) has published its annual “Top 250 Women in IP” list for 2021, and Tilleke & Gibbins is proud to share that for the second year running, Linh Thi Mai Nguyen, partner and head of the firm’s trademark practice in Vietnam, and Sukontip Jitmongkolthong, partner in the firm’s Bangkok office, have been recognized as two of the world’s leading female IP practitioners. Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) has released its IP Stars 2021 individual rankings, with eight Tilleke & Gibbins lawyers in three Southeast Asian jurisdictions included in the list. The rankings, which spotlight the world’s best practitioners working in the fields of patents and trademarks, are selected based on client and peer recommendations in each jurisdiction, with the most commended practitioners being listed in the final results of the annual survey. In terms of the number of ranked individuals, Tilleke & Gibbins leads the way in both Thailand and Vietnam with four and three rankings, respectively. The group of recognized practitioners is divided into “Patent Stars” and “Trademark Stars,” with many lawyers identified in both categories.
